Vermont Conference Racial Justice Task Force!!!
The Department of Justice and Witness Ministries is hosting a discussion about how churches and members of the Vermont Conference can address issues of racial justice in our state and beyond. In 1993, The Nineteenth General Synod called upon UCC congregations in all its settings to be a true multiracial and multicultural church. In 2008, the Vermont Conference Annual Meeting approved a resolution titled Becoming a Multiracial and Multicultural Conference. Much good work has been done since then, but, at the moment, there is no dedicated task force on this issue. We hope that interested folks will consider how we can best share information and action to fulfill our commitments of the past and our call to the future.
